This retro food piece was inspired by a magazine advertisement for a molded salad made with lemon gelatin and canned tuna fish. The red is pimiento, a mild pepper that is found jarred. Chunks of tuna sit on top, with a large dollop of mayonnaise and a sliced olive.
The wooden plate also serves as its frame, which is wired and ready to hang.
