(2026), Styrofoam core, wooden hanger, sequins & buttons, Dimensions: 34" x 27.5" x 2"
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” This iconic quote comes from Matthew Brockerick’s character in the 1986 film, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” Forty years later, and the sweater vest he wore in the movie was auctioned by Sotheby’s for $279,400, cementing its status as a cultural icon. This artwork plays homage to this beloved film and character by recreating the t-shirt and vest in a variety of sequins. The quote literally becomes the pattern that is woven into the sweater, over and over, to remind us that yes, life moves pretty fast.
This piece has an embedded wooden hanger that is covered in sequins, and four black buttons. It has an embedded wire hanger that lets it hang flush to the wall (see pictures).
**Special Note: This artwork is currently hanging in a group show at the University of Nevada, Reno campus. It will be ready to ship around the week of November 16th once the show concludes.
