Inspired by one of my favorite Beatles songs, “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,” it comes from the line about the ‘girl with kaleidoscope eyes.” The kaleidoscope iris was created using a variety of paillette sequins, which are large, flat sequin discs. They can be quite dazzling with how they reflect light. The color palette of soft golds and browns evokes the retro time period from this classic 60s song, and the turquoise handle and gold and blue fringe provide a pop of color.
Beck’s “Eye Bag” series is a visual pun with limitless inspiration. These ‘bags’ are wall decor only, and are not functional as actual purses (too bad!). It is wired and ready to hang on the wall.
